We all remember far too clearly the emotion and feeling of emptiness when we lost our beloved Winnipeg Jets 1.0 in the springtime 22 years ago. Then there was the amazing feeling of the wrong being righted in the spring of 2011 when True North unveiled to the Jets' faithful that NHL hockey would once again return to Manitoba!
Almost 7 years since we were able to reignite the passionate love for our favourite franchise, we now find ourselves in a position we once could scarcely only dream about....entering the Stanley Cup playoffs with a team that has a very real shot at going deep into the postseason. The lead up to this season wasn't always pretty, nor was the direction of Kevin Cheveldayoff's moves and draft selections in years past firmly viewed as taking the club in the desired direction. The 20/20 perspective of hindsight now affords Jets' fanatics the opportunity to pay proper respect to our General Manager who methodically and patiently took the elements inherited from the Atlanta Thrashers organization and moulded the current, talent laden and exciting group of athletes we now see on the ice.
This spring could see a long journey for our boys in white ( and blue!) so you had better buckle up and prepare for what should be an amazing ride well into 2018!
